The Nobel prizes are awarded on 10th of December in Stockholm, Sweden, the birthplace of the founder of the Nobel Prize, Alfred Nobel
Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine
Announced on 5th October, 2020
The prize has been awarded jointly to Harvey J. Alter, Michael Houghton, and Charles M. Rice for the discovery of Hepatitis C virus.

Nobel Prize in Physics
Announced on 6th October, 2020
This year’s Nobel prize in physics is being shared by three Nobel laureates- Roger Penrose, Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez- for their contributions to the discovery of black holes.
Roger Penrose is being awarded half of the Nobel Prize in physics “for the discovery that black hole formation is a robust prediction of the general theory of relativity”
Reinhard Genzel and Andrea Ghez are being awarded 1/4th of the prize each for their ” discovery of a supermassive black hole at the centre of our galaxy”
